we're getting married on the 29/5/10, so in 18 days time

i think stress is getting to me more atm than anything else. DF is in the navy, and we've just found and been approved for a defence house in canberra. only problem is, we move a week after the wedding, plus our kids are being christened the day after our wedding once the day is here i think i'll be very excited, though

i'm trying, i'm trying DF's home a week before the wedding, so i'll have more breathing room then

Date: June 2011, looking at an intimate wedding of around 20 people and trying to stick to a 5k budget!

My date so far (pending funds of course) is 30th Oct 2011

also pending funds: sunday 20 march 2011.
also looking at around $5000 but with a guest list of up to 60 people!

NO idea how Im gonna do it LOL

I have done some recent calculations & the figure you can save booking your suppliers through BDB has risen to about $6,000 so nothing to sneeze at ;)

Hello ladies!!

Our date is 01/10/2011, and im loving every minute of the planning!

We have booked Sacred Heart College Chapel, Festival Function Centre @ Findon, and our priest so far, but im so excited about the BDB and the savings we can get!!

November 6th this year for me! Just under 6 months to go!

We've already had our obligatory wedding disaster in the way of our reception venue possibly being sold and we don't know who is going to own it at the time of our wedding, what the food will be or even what the cost is going to be! AND it is supposed to be closing for renovations at some point over the next few months! :evil:

We've tried just about every other restaurant/winery/reception venue in the Southern Vales and no one else is available... so fingers crossed it all works out!! :bounce:

Your wedding story sounds lovely Jeanette! The main thing is that you enjoy every single second of it. (would love to see your photos lol)

I got married on the 16th of January this year! I loved every second of planning our wedding and enjoyed every single second of it. It went by way to fast, like a blink of an eye, but it was the happiest day ever

Good luck to all the brides preparing for their special day. How nice is it to be able to have a place like this to chat and all these discounts! I have told Jeanette so many times....I wish that this was up and running before I got married. But, it is nice to see so many people connecting on here

So! Wedding Date! We are looking at either 5 March 2011 or 12 March 2011.

We haven't booked anything yet as we're waiting to see our desired venue on Monday. Once we know if it's available on the dates we want and we're happy with the offering, I'll get into the planning.

I'm very well researched on what I want, so it's just a matter now of finding the suppliers to help me make my dreams become a reality.

Well done CoralBride you sound super organised!
I'm a bit like that myself, big preplanner & super organised to but I like how things tend to fall together better that way.

I had a really tight budget, we got married on a WEDNESDAY 3rd of Jan and EVERYTHING was cheaper because it was a week day!
We had out reception at windy point and it ended up being our cheapest quote because they had no minimums as it was a week day so that something to think about

Wow ladies how exciting for you all! I love hearing about how the planning side of things happens. Its crazy since I have started working in this industry I have already planned my wedding, but he hasn't asked yet! I even have a book of ideas - sad I know! I have found that March and October/November are crazy months, and I am generally booked out 6-12 months in advance... so that would be my main tip.
Katie - I noticed your story about the venue being sold. I had clients have this problem in November last year, where their first venue went into recievership, so they lost their deposit along with a guarantee of their booking, and changed their plans for the wedding completely a few months before the wedding date. Have you thought about hiring a marquee and catering option? A few years ago I went to a wedding that was held at Mclaren Vale amongst the vineyards with the reception in the vineyard... it was beautiful, but I am little behind with getting my posts on here so you may have sorted it out already.

Yes, we are now having the reception at the B&B where DAve and I will be staying, so we have had to change from a dinner to a cocktail party, but it will be lovely I'm sure.

Yes, you are right.. .November is a terrible month in terms of weddings and having things available... hindsight is a marvellous thing!

congrats & welcome! Belair Park Country Club is a gorgeous location. I was recently at the expo there which was actually the first time I'd been in the grounds which is crazy really seeing as I practically live around the corner. Always seems to be the way though doesn't it?
